The Wonder of Polymer Clay

About Bonnie McGough

Bonnie McGough was born in the Rhodopi mountains of Bulgaria. In the sixties she met her English husband and came to live in England. Having given up her first passion... singing, she transferred her attention to arts and crafts. They have played a prominent part in her life.

Bonnie has keen interest in design and embroidery, fabric painting, dress design, sculpting, travel, mountain walking, languages, classical music, crosswords, in whatever language she can speak (and she speaks a few). Most of all she likes animals, with cats on the top of the list.

Bonnie is a member of the British and Cyprus polymer clay guilds. She has been demonstrating and teaching the art and workings of polymer clay for The British polymer clay Guild and Staedtler (UK) - The Fimo people, and has travelled all over Britain and Ireland.

After teaching Fabric painting for Tri-Chem for many years about 16 years ago Bonnie concentrated to sculpting with clay , which led to “discovering “ Polymer clay.

She has been using polymer clay for many years, but for the past 8 years she has demonstrated and tutored the art of polymer clay at national and international level. She has appeared at International shows as Stitches, The Educational Show, Miniatura and Hobbycraft at the NEC Birmingham. Also she has demonstrated and held workshops in Scotland, Wales, England and Ireland ( Galway, Bray, Limerick, Athlone).

‘’Well known for her creative genius, Bonnie McGough has many years of experience as both an artist and tutor. Although Bonnie works with a variety of crafts, she discovered polymer modelling clay about 16 years ago and it quickly became her favourite medium. Bonnie always crafts with Fimo, and her work includes ‘Fun Fimo Creatures’, jewellery, beads, greeting cards and home decor. Bonnie was chosen to judge the Junior Craft Group and Adult Crafter—Hobby User Groups.’’
